The Divine Feminine

I woke up at 315am this morning. I couldn’t get back to sleep so decided to sit up and start writing. I wasn’t sure what I was to write about but in my head I got the words Divine Feminine, so I rolled with it. Within all of us is a masculine and feminine energy, our yin and yang.  Both men and women have the feminine and masculine within them. The masculine relates to the logic, decision making, rationale whilst the feminine energy relates to the nurturing, intuitive and compassionate side to ourselves. When the energies are out of alignment we can feel stuck, lost, not entirely sure of who we are.

Working as an intuitive healer has helped me explore my feminine side so much more. When I went into my first graduate job with a major retailer, it was a dog eat dog world. It was competitive and tough, and male dominated. I wore a mask to work. I couldn’t be seen to be weak. I just went in and got on with my job, striving to be the best I could be, working long hours and actually ignoring myself. Ignoring the person I truly was inside. I was working there because having graduated with a degree in International Business this was what I felt I was meant to do. I got burn out. I was stressed and finally went for some healing. This was the beginning of my healing process. I gradually became more aware of who I was.

I was first made aware of the different energies within me when I had my Soul Plan done, with Jude Robinson. She told me that I would be successful in business as I could bring in the logic and decision making of the masculine but balance it with the healing and compassionate side that I have. As my intuition has grown stronger over the years I have learned to listen to what my body wants and what my soul craves. Walks in the fresh air, sitting under the light of the Moon, singing out loud in the car and dancing like no-one is watching ( even though they sometimes are) As I have been working with the Moon the natural rhythm and cycles are in flow. Building other women up rather than pushing them down and competing with them now comes naturally to me. Giving a stranger a compliment such as I love your top, or your nails or whatever it is, lifts them. As we lift others we in turn lift ourselves.

Embracing our feminine side doesn’t mean we have to wear swishy skirts and have long soft flowing hair. It is about learning to trust our intuition and our knowing that was built into us from the moment we were born. Since time began women have been persecuted for their beliefs, their witchery, their clothing choices, their birth choices. I read today that women can now have injections into their labia at a cost of £950 per time. Seriously?? How did we get to this? You are gifted with an amazing physical body. For health reasons if you need surgery I get it.

For the sake of our feminine energies and womanly togetherness let’s embrace and support each other, as well as ourselves. As Rebecca Campbells book says, “Rise Sister Rise”

My Kundalini Yoga Experience

Filling your own cup

As an energy healer I like to think that I am in tune with the energy of my own body. A couple of days ago I felt a bit flat and a bit low and couldn’t quite put my finger on it. Today I woke up and the same energy was there. I dropped the kids off, came home and did a bit of work. I had a load of dishes to wash, from the night before, clothes to hang out and the usual list of household chores. I had had a conversation a few days ago with an old friend who told me, “You’re always giving Lindsay” As an empath that comes very naturally to me and it’s true. I have learnt especially since setting up my own business, that I need to look after me too. I always tell self employed business owners that looking after you is as important as looking after your business.

The Rising Dawn Sanctuary

The Rising Dawn Sanctuary is a beautiful place in the outskirts of York. Jote Prakash, who with his mum, Nam Prakash, runs Wellness Wednesdays. This is where I headed today. I threw on a pair of stretchy pants and drove over to see if this would help my energy. I was also enticed by the fact that they were offering Kundalini Yoga. I’ve never experienced this particular type of Yoga. I tend to do Yoga with Adriene via YouTube videos in my pyjamas.
I was greeted by Jote Prakash with a hug and a cup of mint tea. The place feels peaceful and serene and at once you are made to feel at ease. You are invited to bring some food to share for lunch. Unfortunately, being on a tight deadline today I couldn’t stay, but the vegetable curry smelt beautiful. Jote Prakash’s granny arrived, who is also extremely welcoming. You feel like you are meant to be there. Several other ladies arrived and we went into the airy room for our meditation and yoga session. Mats, cushions and blankets are all provided for you. I arrived completely unprepared so was grateful for this.

Releasing stuck energy

I will be honest with you. I can’t remember all of the details exactly of the class as I was in a relaxed meditative state for most of it. However, as a beginner to a ‘public’ yoga class, I felt at ease and that was due to Jote Prakash telling us not to worry about what anyone else was doing and to be in our own space. We got into one position for the yoga where I had my hands clasped together and forefingers pointing upwards behind my back. As we bent forward, I was overcome with an urge to cry. I have never experienced crying upside down, which was quite surreal. I didn’t feel sad or unhappy. I just had this moment of ‘release’. For anyone who already does yoga or meditation you will understand. If you have never done yoga or meditation, a release can come in the form of tears, when stuck energy is moved. I welcomed it and allowed the tears to fall up my face, rather than down. Once we had done the yoga, we were given the opportunity to shake it out. I felt a bit silly at first but soon got into the swing of shaking my hands, feet, head, legs, hips. It felt awesome and I could literally feel the energy vibrating through my hands. We ended with some chanting and even though I didn’t recognise the words I hummed, which is encouraged as you are then getting the vibrational sound and the healing.

Being in the stillness

People often see me as being happy and outgoing, which I generally am. Sometimes however, there are moments where I don’t feel like that. We can’t feel happy and positive 100% of the time. It’s not natural. What we can feel, when we practise meditating, letting go, healing etc is stillness. When we learn the art of stillness within and being in the moment, we become more present and aware. When we are aware of how we are feeling, we then have that choice to embrace it or to push it down and repress it. Repressing it might work in the short term but at some point, you will have to deal with all of those repressed emotions. Whether it’s a year from now, 5 years or 10.

Heal those repressed emotions

If you are ready to face those unresolved, repressed emotions seek out a trained therapist or healer. Reiki is fabulous for releasing emotional blockages. Or if you happen to live in York head to a Wellness Wednesday with Jote Prakash and the Rising Dawn Sanctuary.

What is an Awakening?

What is an Awakening?

The first time I heard the word Awakening was from one of my Reiki students. I had never heard the word before and wasn’t really sure what ‘it’ was. Two months later another student came to me telling me about her awakening. I started to read into it so I could understand if more clients or students came to me. Which they did.

Eckhart Tolle describes an awakening as “A shift in consciousness in which thinking and awareness separate” My more simplified version would be, ” Remembering who you truly are”

What does that mean? I am me. Yes you are. You were born and brought up within a family who had certain beliefs and thoughts. Their beliefs and thoughts became your beliefs and thoughts. You went to school and the teachers gave you knowledge and opinions which you absorbed. You left school and got your first job. You were working for someone who had their own ways and ideas of working, which you adopted. You eventually got tired of working 9-5 and doing the same thing every day. Arriving home feeling tired and exhausted. Thinking to yourself that there must be more to life than this. You start watching Gaia as you are intrigued. You search YouTube videos searching for proof that you are meant to be here, that there is something higher at work. As you start to read self help books and watching these videos you start to question who you are. You start hearing about higher beings, multi dimensions, healing, shamans, auras, angels. Some of the stuff you hear or read or watch might blow your mind. My mind has been BLOWN since January learning about even more about myself and life than I knew possible.

What happens when you start to awaken?

Once you start to awaken, it is a process that you can’t turn around. Part of your awakening is about remembering your inner purpose. For some people an awakening can happen quite quickly, which can make it seem quite scary. For some it is more of a gradual journey. I resemble my awakening to that of the Tortoise in the Tortoise and the Hare. It started back in 2002 when I first heard about Reiki. Since then I have experienced different healing, read hundreds of books, watched thousands of YouTube videos and Gaia programmes. I meditate to develop myself, I practise Yoga, most days. I work on myself every day so I can be in the best place to help others. I have had the time to be able to observe various tools and gained a broad understanding of this journey.

When you are going through an awakening you will have a lot of questions. Relationships may change. You may find that toxic or negative people fall by the wayside. You may find yourself coming into conflict with your nearest and dearest as they don’t want to hear certain ‘truths’. You might find your diet changing. Some of my students have said they have literally woken up one day and decided not to eat meat anymore. I have been a meat eater for years and this is my first week, ever, without meat and I’m quite enjoying it. I feel lighter in my body. There is a huge shift to plant based diets and veganism. Another common thing I hear is how alone people feel. They don’t feel they can talk to anyone about this ‘stuff’.

A great phrase my friend says is, “This Too Shall Pass.” When you start to awaken trust that it is the beginning of a process. You are shedding crap that no longer serves you and isn’t going to serve you. Yes it can be frightening if you have always lived according to someone else’s beliefs and opinions. If you have lived according to someone else’s rules. TRUST in the process. Meditate. Journal and seek healing.

Remember who you truly are

Top 10 Spiritual Books

10 spiritual books you need to read

I have been asked recently on numerous occasions what my top 10 books are for spirituality. In no particular order these are my favourites and the reasons why.

Angels in my Hair- Lorna Byrne

This was my first book I read about Angels. Prior to this I had NO idea that angels were around us. This book, I believe, was her first one. Reading her story there is such humility with Lorna and such an easy introduction into the world of Angels. Highly recommend for anyone interested in Angels. Angels in My Hair by Byrne, Lorna (2010)

Moonology- Yasmin Boland

Working with the moon cycles has seriously changed my life! I have let go of sooo much stuff and brought things into my life which I never would have expected. For example my first new moon intention setting I wrote a list of 10 things I wanted from January 2018. One of them was to appear on TV/Radio to talk about crystals or Reiki. 2 days letter I get a phone call asking me to go on a local radio station and talk about crystals! Seriously? So if you want to learn how to work with the Moon Cycles I highly recommend this book! Moonology: Working with the Magic of Lunar Cycles

The Four Agreements- Don Miguel Ruiz

A friend lent me this book. In terms of simplicity and ease to read I highly recommend. It provides us with the basic principles for life that we should never forget. This is how he describes the book. “The Four Agreements, don Miguel Ruiz reveals the source of self-limiting beliefs that rob us of joy and create needless suffering. Based on ancient Toltec wisdom, The Four Agreements offer a powerful code of conduct that can rapidly transform our lives to a new experience of freedom, true happiness, and love.” The Four Agreements: Practical Guide to Personal Freedom (Toltec Wisdom Book)

Rise Sister Rise- Rebecca Campbell

I read this following my divorce and I think it was the first book I have read which talked about owning your feminine side. It reminded me what it meant to be a woman and to embrace the various stages we go through as women. It helped me to embrace my inner power and to own it. Rise Sister Rise: A Guide to Unleashing the Wise, Wild Woman Within

Top 10 Spiritual Books

Bringers of the Dawn- Barbara Marciniak

I was introduced to Barbaras work in January 2019. I hadn’t heard of the Pleidians before but something resonated when I watched her YouTube channel. I haven’t finished this book yet but I have to say everything in it makes sense to me. I don’t know if I have always had that knowing? If you believe there is more out there I highly recommend this book to all extra terrestial fans. Bringers of the Dawn: Teachings from the Pleiadians

Voices in my Ear- Doris Stokes

This was the very first book I ever read about ‘spiritual’ stuff when I was 11 or 12. The fact that this woman could speak to dead people amazed and fascinated me. Considering it was the 1960s’ and 1970’s she always stood her ground and stood strong in her conviction that there was an afterlife and she could speak to spirit. Voices In My Ear: Autobiography of a Medium

Reiki and the Seven Chakras- Richard Ellis

This was one of the only Reiki books I read that actually incorporated Reiki into the real world. I learnt so much about chakras from this book, what it meant if they were balanced and unbalanced. Highly recommend for any Reiki therapists or anyone interested in chakras. Reiki And The Seven Chakras: Your Essential Guide to the First Level

Life Lessons- Elizabeth Kubler Ross and David Kessler

I read this in 2018 and seriously wish I had read it when I was at school. It covers a variety of topics such as power, relationships and love. Simply written and lessons we could all do with learning about to provide a strong foundation.

The Alchemist- Paulo Cohelo

I read this a long time ago followed by several others of his books and I remember that they left a strong impression on me as a 20 something year old. The Alchemist: A Fable About Following Your Dream

The Red Tent- Anita Diamant

Every woman should read this and pass it onto their daughters, nieces or grandchildren. A story of how women used to come together, to support and share stories. The Red Tent

I must have read at least 100 various spiritual books over the last 10 years and have found it difficult to shortlist them. I would love to hear what your favourite spiritual book is! Let me know in the comments below 🙂

Power Animal

Have you met your power animal?

What is a Power Animal?

A power animal, is a bit like a spirit guide, in that everyone has one. It can change depending on where you are at in your life. A power animal is an animal representing a person’s interconnection to all life, their qualities of character and their power, their inner self, their higher consciousness. Just as humans often find comfort and power with physical animals, so too can they find that same relationship with power animals.

Can I have more than one power animal?

Yes. Depending on where you are at emotionally, spiritually and mentally on a daily basis your power animal may change. One day it might be a bear, the next a lion. There are a huge plethora of power animals that you can have. I’m not going to list them as there are far too many. Once you discover what your power animal is you can google it.

How do I meet my power animal?

You can do this through guided meditations, visualisation, you can ask before you fall asleep for your power animal to come through in a dream. You might also be lucky enough to see an animal in the physical world. For example yesterday I was driving through the countryside and as I approached a bend there was a barn owl sat there, as if waiting for me. It flew alongside the car for several minutes before flying off. You might see a Deer in a field. If you are out and about and notice a particular bird/insect or wild animal take note. Research your animal and see if any of the qualities resonate.

In shamanism power animals are honoured and well respected. In shamanic work the power animal is essential. They can bring in wisdom so for example an owl would bring in wisdom. A bear might bring in strength.

What is my experience of power animals?

Well you see this beautiful flamingo below? I have had him/her come through to me twice in the last few months. The first time was when I went to birth my drum. The lady running the workshop guided us on a shamanic journey and the flamingo was the animal that popped into my head. When we came back I said I thought the flamingo was here to encourage me to have fun and balance in my life.

Power Animal

Ray Hennessy

I ran a Reiki share this week. Whilst I was giving Reiki to one of my students I saw a beautiful black wing out of the corner of my eye. I closed my eyes then saw this beautiful eagle flying across the mountains. I told her afterwards that the eagle was with her. She has had this eagle through several times before. I then closed my eyes and got the flamingo again. Another timely reminder to have fun and achieve a balance. According to https://trustedpsychicmediums.com/spirit-animals/ “the flamingo calls for you to be vibrant and outgoing, and to be well-balanced and resourceful in life. There are infinite possibilities for you, and all these you can achieve because of your intelligence and creativity. Once you find your purpose, you are unstoppable. You can achieve anything that you want to achieve, and your life will be so much more than you imagined!”

How cool is that? The way I see it the power animal is another tool in your spiritual toolbox that you can use to gauge where you’re at in your life. To provide insight and some wisdom.

Let me know if you connect with your power animal and if so what it is!

New moon

New Moon Day!

NEW MOON DAY!!

Hey, hey, hey, Today is a New Moon day. I am so excited! Why do I get excited on a New Moon Day? It is a time to sit down, reflect on what I have achieved so far this year and then think what fun, exciting things I want to achieve next month.

New moon

What do I know about working with the New Moon?

Now I don’t profess to being an astrologer or horoscope expert. However, what I can tell you is that my experience of working with the moon phases has created some AMAZING opportunities for me that I never thought I could create. Every month, I do a full moon ritual and every month I set my New Moon Intentions. Out of the 10 wishes I make, probably 70% of them manifest in some way, shape or form. The 30% that don’t I haven’t given any attention to. Generally. You can go crazy and write stuff down that you have always wanted to try for example, but never have. You might find a friend invites you along to the said activity. Truly believe that you can make your wishes become reality. Commit to doing this every month and you will become a moon lover like me.

How do I do it?

Sit down and think about what you want more of in your life in the next 4 weeks? Family? Fun? Relationships? Work? Start writing your 10 wishes. Underneath your 10 wishes then write an affirmation. For example, I am having fun trampolining. What does it feel like when you are trampolining.Go back through your list and think of any actions you can take to help that wish come true. Then put the paper into a drawer and forget about it.

Check out my YouTube video here on how to do your own basic New Moon ritual https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ybpvpcmruz0

I would love to hear from you if you work with the Moon or your experiences. This book by Yasmin Boland is my bible! Moonology: Working with the Magic of Lunar Cycles

Have you heard of dimensions of consciousness?

I first heard of the 5th dimension nearly 2 years ago now. One of my students, who had come to learn Reiki started telling me how she had had this massive ‘awakening’ and loads of ‘stuff’ about the 5th dimension. I had no idea what she was talking about but it sounded interesting. Then another student came and described his ‘awakening’.  In 2017 I was teaching Reiki and hadn’t heard of this ‘awakening’ they were telling me about. Fast forward 2 years and now I get it! Let me explain first of all what an awakening is and then I can describe the dimensions of consciousness.

An awakening can occur suddenly and overnight or it can take its time. Basically it is when you become more aware, that there is more to you than just your physical body. Urban dictionary describes it as “a shift in consciousness, an apperception of reality which had been previously unrealized. The culmination of such realizations is in the recognition of oneness with all of existence.”

Sounds a bit out there?

Let’s go into dimensions of consciousness so it makes more sense. There are currently 3 states of dimensional consciousness. 3D/4D and 5D on Earth. Depending on which dimension we are living in will depend on how we perceive the world. Let me give you some examples so you can see where you are right now

3D Consciousness

  • You view things as physical, rather than energy and vibration
  • Life is a competition and people are judged by the way they dress, the car they drive, the smartphone they have
  • Things are perceived as good or bad
  • You don’t believe that thoughts can change your reality. If something happens it is a coincidence
  • Money and social status are high priority
  • You have no desire to go within yourself and look at things from a higher point of view
  • You don’t believe there is enough for everyone in the world, money, food etc

4D Consciousness

  • Seen as a path to the 5th Dimension
  • You might change your eating habits, start to meditate, do some yoga
  • You have started to believe that there is something more than ‘just this’
  • You start to think about your impact on the environment, reducing plastic, recycling, using the car less
  • You want to find your purpose and follow your dreams
  • Your intuition starts to grow and expand
  • Looking for a deeper meaning of life and the Universe

5D Consciousness

  • Once you are here it is very difficult to go back to 3D life
  • You understand the connection and oneness of life
  • There is no good or bad when an event occurs
  • You understand that there is a higher purpose at work
  • You have stronger feelings of love connection, with others, with the Earth, the Moon, the Stars,
  • There is no judgement of others, they walk their path in their way, you do it your way
  • You see everyone as equal, regardless of their social status in the world
  • Your purpose in life is to live in joy and truth
  • No competition and enough for everyone
  • Your intuition is very strong

Those are your 3 levels of consciousness and you are exactly where you need to be right now. Everyone’s path is different. Everyone’s journey is unique. Embrace the journey for whilst some may amble through from the 3rd to the 5th, others may find themselves catapulted into the 5th overnight.

Are you fed up of holding onto stuff that no longer serves you?

I started working with the moon cycles in January 2018 following reading Yasmin Bolands book Moonology: Working with the Magic of Lunar Cycles. So now I have the new moon and full moon dates on my calendar. The more that I have been working with the moon, the more in tune I have become to my emotions. The New Moon is all about setting intentions and writing down your dreams. The Full Moon is about letting go. Cue Frozen song, Let It Go!

This Full Moon goes into Aquarius. The next two weeks are about detaching and really letting go of what no longer serves you. This could be relationships, friendships, habits or thought processes. Really delve into yourself and ask does this serve me? Do I need this? How does this lift me?

“What can we let go of which no longer serves us? What are we holding onto that we don’t need to anymore? Ask Archangel Michael to cut any cords between you and anyone that needs to be let go of. Dissolve any relationships that are sapping your energy. This month is a time for love, not only affairs of the heart but self love too. Take yourself out on a date, buy yourself flowers, love you independently of anyone else. True love does come from within. Be kind to yourself and stop beating yourself up about should have’s and could have’s. It will be an interesting 2 weeks as the light continues to shine within us and as it does it spreads, outweighing any darkness. Don’t let anyone bring you down. You’ve got thisChannelled Message

How does letting go of stuff help me?

Do you really want to harbour grudges against past exes? Do you think it is a valuable use of your time to spend resenting people from your past who have hurt you? Do you think those people deserve your fabulous energy? If you answered no then read on.

C/O Craig Brough of Northedge Photography

What do I have to do?

Good question! The first time you do this it might take a while. Sit at a table/desk with no distractions. Get a pen and paper. Now you are going to go back to childhood with the first one. Anyone who bullied you, your teachers, your parents, anyone you feel you need to forgive write down their names. And carry on with partners, exes, work colleagues, bosses, anyone. Anyone who has ever hurt you, that you feel resentment towards or anger. Write them all down. The first time you do this it feels quite cathartic. When you have finished you then think of 5 people in your life that you are grateful for. Then the fun bit. You take your list outside and you burn it. By doing this you are saying to the Universe I am ready to release and let go of that which no longer serves me. By creating the space within you will then allow for bigger and better things to come your way.

If you want to hop over to YouTube I have recorded a ‘How to do a Full Moon ritual’ here https://studio.youtube.com/video/kX2vXy7j5S0/edit

Now what?

The next thing you will do is set your new moon intentions in 2 weeks. You have created space for better things to come in and serve you. Happy Moon Working 🙂

So if you have never done it before and are starting today then let me know by dropping a comment in the box! I would love to hear how you get on

Happy Valentines Day to Me

Photo by Tyler Nix on Unsplash

It’s that time of year again. Valentines Day. The shops are full of love, heart shaped chocs and items, cards for your loved one, your husband, your wife. It is a day all about love. If you don’t have another person you can celebrate it with, then why not celebrate yourself. The old adage, you can’t love another until you truly love yourself, is true. So rather than reaching for the bottle of wine and singing Bridget Jones Style into it,  let’s see what you can do instead to show yourself love this Valentines Day.

  1. Wish yourself a Happy Valentines Day
  2. Buy yourself a card
  3. Buy yourself chocolates
  4. Treat yourself to a fabulous homemade meal
  5. Have a bath, but not just any bath, add oils, petals, crystals, make it a goddess bath
  6. Do yoga
  7. Meditate
  8. Find a special crystal, hold it and carry it with you for the day. I would recommend Rose Quartz, for encouraging self love.
  9. Do what you want to do and what you feel you want to do
  10. Honour yourself and tell yourself in the mirror “I Love Me”

If you aren’t used to showing yourself love, there isn’t any better day to start than Valentines Day. How do you show yourself love?

THE most amazing crystal I have worked with in a long time-Auralite 23

I visited the Zentist in York yesterday to see if they would stock my book, A Gentle Hug for the Soul. As I was in there I was invited to hold some of the more rarer crystals they have in stock. Now I must have over 200 crystals in my home alone, so I thought they wouldn’t have many I didn’t have.

A piece of moldavite was first placed in my hand. It felt very tingly. A herkimer diamond was placed in the other. Sadly I have had 2 of these and both have disappeared 🙁 I was browsing their shelves when something caught my eye. As with most crystals they tend to pick you than you picking them. It was purple on the top and red on the bottom. I thought it was a cross between amethyst and red jasper. There are tiny flecks of black, gold and silver in it too. I held it and decided I needed to take it home with me to try as I had never heard of it before. It was auralite 23.

Auralite 23 crystal

This crystal was first found in Canada in 2007. When scientists examined it they found it consisted of 23 different minerals. These are

  1. Titanite
  2. Pyrite
  3. Limonite
  4. Cacoxenite
  5. Goethite
  6. Sphalerite
  7. Gialite
  8. Pyrolusite
  9. Covelite
  10. Gold
  11. Copper
  12. Bornite
  13. Rutile
  14. Epidote
  15. Nickel
  16. Magnetite
  17. Ajoite
  18. Hematite
  19. Chalcopyrite
  20. Silver
  21. Lepidocrosite
  22. Platinum
  23. Iron

Now I read the small description card that came with it and held it in my left hand. I was writing in my journal before bed and after a few minutes I realised that there was a very loud ringing in my ears. I can imagine thats what tinnitus is a bit like. If I have had loud ringing before it has been after watching some TV or listening to music too loudly. Anyway I was very aware that the loud ringing was continuing so I put down my book and closed my eyes. I have heard voices before in my left ear quite clearly. I’ve been told ‘let it go’ and ‘you will be on stage’ This sounded like a radio being tuned in. Eventually I realised that a word was being said and after a few more minutes I realised it was Angels. I lay down and fell asleep holding the crystal. Apparently it is meant to help you connect to higher dimensions and clear all your chakras.

It is known as a master healer, can help to eliminate bad luck, and can help to inspire you. Said to work on cell regeneration and muscle aches, what is not to love about this crystal? The only downside? If you aren’t a particularly grounded person you would need to carry a grounding stone too as it can take you up into the clouds 🙂

If you have used auralite 23 I’d love to hear your experiences!
