NEW MOON DAY!!

Hey, hey, hey, Today is a New Moon day. I am so excited! Why do I get excited on a New Moon Day? It is a time to sit down, reflect on what I have achieved so far this year and then think what fun, exciting things I want to achieve next month.

Now on March 6th the New Moon goes into Pisces. Interestingly I did an affirmation card this morning and one of the cards that came about was surrendering. This month is about surrendering. It is about healing, any wounds that you need tended to, tend to them in the next 4 weeks. Let your imagination go wild with what dreams you want to achieve. It is a great month for tuning into your intuition.

What do I know about working with the New Moon?

Now I don’t profess to being an astrologer or horoscope expert. However, what I can tell you is that my experience of working with the moon phases has created some AMAZING opportunities for me that I never thought I could create. Every month, I do a full moon ritual and every month I set my New Moon Intentions. Out of the 10 wishes I make, probably 70% of them manifest in some way, shape or form. The 30% that don’t I haven’t given any attention to. Generally. You can go crazy and write stuff down that you have always wanted to try for example, but never have. You might find a friend invites you along to the said activity. Truly believe that you can make your wishes become reality. Commit to doing this every month and you will become a moon lover like me.

How do I do it?

Sit down and think about what you want more of in your life in the next 4 weeks? Family? Fun? Relationships? Work? Start writing your 10 wishes. Underneath your 10 wishes then write an affirmation. For example, I am having fun trampolining. What does it feel like when you are trampolining.Go back through your list and think of any actions you can take to help that wish come true. Then put the paper into a drawer and forget about it.

Why you get 2 chances to make New Years Resolutions this year!

January 1st is typically the day we set our new years resolutions. We generally state what we are going to do this year. I’m going to lose weight. I’m going to stop smoking. I’m going to stop eating chocolate. The second Friday in January is officially known as ‘Quitters Day’ This is when most of us give up our New Years resolutions and decide we just can’t stick to our resolution. Let me give you my take firstly on why this happens. Setting a goal/resolution for a whole 12 months is huge and for some it can be overwhelming. It can take up to 21 days to break a habit. Rather than saying I am going to lose weight try I will increase my physical activity. That’s surely easier isn’t it?

A couple of years ago I set myself a different goal each month. January I gave up bread, which was tough, but since it was just for 4 weeks that was doable. February I gave up chocolate, tougher, but again manageable for 4 weeks. In 2018 I started working with the Moon. Now bear with me if you’re new to this. Every 4 weeks we have a new moon. Every 4 weeks we have a full moon. On a full moon we release and forgive. On a New Moon we set our intentions/wishes/goals. In 2019 not only can we set New Years Resolutions on January 1st, but we get a second chance to help us stick to it.

How would you do it? Lets stick with the losing weight resolution. That’s for the year.

On Jan 6th you want to think a bit more about how you are going to lose weight. Who can help you to lose weight? What is driving you to do it? You might then write your intentions as follows:

  1. I am going to start walking my kids to school ( if you live within walking distance)
  2. I am going to make a homemade curry instead of buying a takeway curry
  3. I will find a YouTube video I love that is only 15 minutes a day of exercise I love

And so on. Make 10 wishes that are going to help you achieve your goals in 2019. Then underneath your wish write an action that will help you achieve it. Using example 2 with the curry. I am going to make sure I have ingredients in to cook a homemade curry. Write 10 wishes that you would like to happen in January. Then read through them and see how it feels to achieve it. That’s it. So this year we get 2 chances to make our wishes come true! Let’s do this! Let me know how you get on.
