Himalayan Salt

About Himalayan Salt

Himalayan Crystal Salt contains the same 84 natural minerals and elements found in the human body. The salt has been there for 250 million years under intense tectonic pressure, creating an environment of zero exposure to toxins and impurities. Himalayan salt’s unique cellular structure allows it to store vibrational energy. Its minerals exist in a colloidal form, meaning that they are tiny enough for our cells to easily absorb.

The table salt found in most homes, restaurants, and processed foods is void of nutritional value, lacking beneficial trace minerals. Processing salt turns it into sodium chloride, an unnatural salt the human body actually sees as a toxic invader! The body cannot dispose of it in a natural, healthy way which can lead to irritation of the tissues, water retention, and high blood pressure

Himalayan Salt Lamps

Natural salt mined from the foothills of the Himalayan Mountains is rich in minerals and an attractive pink to orange colour. Each lamp is completely unique in size and colour. Electric salt lamps and salt tea light candle holders give a warm comforting glow. They are also known to ionise the air in a room, cleaning it of pollutants. Salt lamps are a natural therapy for helping with conditions such as Asthema, Rheumatism, Allergies, Respiratory diseases, Migraine, High blood pressure.

The salt crystal used in tea light holders come from salt mines where crystallised salt has been deposited more than 250 million years ago. The tea light holders are produced in their country of origin, and each one is carefully shaped by hand from a single piece of salt crystal.

Electrical equipment such as TV's, mobile phone chargers etc create harmful positively charged ions and can cause air quality to deteriorate. By using a lamp the bulb helps heat the salt and creates negative ions helping to combat the positive ones. It acts a bit like a natural air cleanser.

Many people have said they have benefited from these Himalayan Salt lamps for a variety of conditions such as asthma, allergies, SAD, depression and anxiety.  People also appreciate them for their aesthetic qualities, they give a lovely glow and look calming.

Caring for your tea light holders
Keep your tealight holder away from wet areas like the bathroom, kitchen and utility room.
Use a coaster or saucer underneath to protect surfaces.
Use a dry lint free cloth to pat the crystal dry of there is a large build up of moisture on the outside.

Himalayan Salt for Bathing

Himalayan slatsAdding Himalayan salt to a bath creates a rejuvenating, detoxing, and relaxing at-home spa. The salt water carries the electrical charge of the salt, along with the dissolved minerals. A salt bath helps draw out toxins, deep cleanses the skin, and helps cleanse the body energetically.

Himalayan pink salt is so rich in minerals, soaking in a solution of bath water infused Himalayan salt allows the skin to soak up these minerals, including calcium, copper, iodine, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, selenium, sodium, and zinc, in a process known as dermal absorption. (A term that describes the transport of chemicals from the outer surface of the skin both into the skin and into the systemic circulation).

Detoxification is important too, due to the countless toxins we’re all exposed to on a daily basis, from our food, our water, the air we breathe, household and personal products, and more. In fact, it’s been estimated that we encounter some 700,000 to 2.1 million different toxic chemicals every day.

By bathing in Himalayan salts, some of these toxins are pulled out of the skin through a process known as reverse osmosis. (Your skin basically absorbs the salt it needs into your body and gets rid of the toxins it doesn’t)

Pronounced Solay, you can use Himalayan salt as a drink. In order to make this you need Himalayan Salt, water and a glass container with a plastic lid. Fill the container with a ¼ of salt. Top up with mineral water. Place the lid on the container and leave for 24 hours. Ta-Dah your sole is now ready to drink. Don’t worry if there is salt left at the bottom, this is completely normal. It indicates that the water is fully saturated with salt at 26%. You only drink what is in the upper two thirds of the container as this is more alkaline and therefore more beneficial for internal use. You can use the lower third for external use eg the bath.

When you are ready, take a teaspoon of the sole and put it in a glass. Top it up with water. The best time to drink it is on an empty stomach before breakfast. The stomach and the intestines will be stimulated within minutes encouraging metabolism and digestion.
What are the benefits of drinking sole?

  • The Sole supplies the body with the natural energy stored in the salt crystals which the body can hold for up to 24 hours.
  • Scientific reports showed that it can help neutralizing the alkaline/acidity balance in the body and normalizing blood pressure.
  • Can dissolve and eliminate impurities and built up toxins which lead to stones and various forms of rheumatism like arthritis and kidney and gall bladder stones.
  • Can help lowering the craving for addictive desires.
  • Can help with skin problems by cleaning from inside out.
  • The overall availability of electrolytes is build up and thus the conductivity in the body is increased, which in turn stimulates circulation and the nervous system.

A study conducted in 2003 at the Inter-University of Graz in Austria, gave participants water with Himalayan salt added and they experienced positive changes in nervous system functions, connective tissues, respiration and circulation as well as increases in brain activity, concentration levels, weight loss, quality of sleep and noticeable growth in hair and nails.

Salt licks ( For animals)

Mineral licks for horses - sodium is a key nutrient for fluid balance in the body, yet a great deal can be lost in the sweat. If losses are not replaced, over time the horse will suffer from dehydration because the body’s salt concentration is what drives thirst. By having a salt lick readily available for your horse it will take what it needs for its diet. Deficiency causes decreased exercise performance, sweating, nerve and muscle dysfunction and reduced appetite. Chloride is also lost in sweat, and is important for body fluid balance and the production of stomach acid.

Most horse diets are short of salt, and neither multi-vitamin and mineral supplements nor compound feeds provide enough salt for exercising horses. Salt requirements vary day to day depending on sweating rates so only basic levels are included in vitamin and mineral supplements and compounds
